A ‘D’ color internally flawless pear-shaped diamond weighing 100.1 carats was sold for CHF 19,858,500 ($16,561,171) at Sotheby’s, Geneva. Switzerland, on May 17, 1995. ‘D’ is the highest grade that can be given to a diamond and indicates that the diamond is the finest white in color.
