Different Types of Bikini Wax and Application Techniques
This article will give the reader some information about their options when it comes to bikini waxing.
Summer’s coming our way again… that means that it’s time to go to the beauty salon for most of us, so that we can be comfortable in and look great in our new bathing suits! Some of us groom all year round… but summer is the time when the most people do it.
First, you need to know that there is not only one kind of bikini wax. You can opt for a basic bikini wax, or you can get a special kind called a Brazilian wax. Not only that, but you can get either a partial Brazilian wax, or a full Brazilian wax. A partial Brazilian is just a little bit more hair taken off than a bikini wax-a full, however, is going to be you, bald-eagle and on display.
Most salons do the basic bikini wax – you can usually get this done at the same place that you have your eyebrows waxed and you have your manicure and pedicure done. It can virtually all take place in one day. However, a Brazilian wax is a little bit more advanced, and it will not be available in the smaller salons. Usually, Brazilians are more readily available at spas and more upscale types of places. Also, they are more expensive, and more painful than a regular bikini wax. You must be prepared to get up close and personal with your beauty consultant. He/she will be seeing you up close and personal in your most private spots, and then causing pain in those same spots as well. He/she will also be seeing you at your most raw; possibly being totally nude and hairless in your most private spots. You may want to get a second person in the room with you just in case-like at the gynecologist.
It’s really nothing to be worried about-any kind of waxing hurts a tad, but is over quickly; and like anything worth having, is an example of delayed gratification. Sure, it’s not fun to have a Brazilian wax, but in the end, the results will be worth it! Make sure that you get a highly skilled and trained person to do any of your waxing, but especially this type of waxing. You don’t want to get a lot of painful ingrown hair in your nether regions. And you don’t want them to mess up and really harm your most fragile pieces of skin down there.
Nothing should be applied to the hair before waxing occurs. Usually, the hair is combed in the opposite direction that the hair will be pulled from, and then some very hot wax will be applied. Then a sticky tab will be applied to where the excess hair is and it will be yanked off of your skin very quickly. Very often, strays will be picked off with tweezers. It really sounds worse than it is. After several times of getting waxes, if hurts less and less- you know what to expect. Usually the worst part is the worrying of what it will feel like.
Don’t let the fear-or price-stop you. Brazilian waxes are more expensive, but it’s because they last longer and the results are wonderful. Go ahead, give it a try!
