Keeping Hair Color Fresh
We all know when we have a good hair day. Life just seems to go better. But you cant have a good hair day when your roots are showing (Did you know others notice roots more than you do?) So why wait just one more week when something so easy makes you feel so good?
How do you know when your color needs a touch up? The average persons hair grows to 1 inch a month, so watch your roots, see when they show, and schedule regular color appointments with yourself. It only takes 30 minutes to freshen your color! “Clairol colors are designed for frequent use, so its perfectly safe to touch up color whenever it needs it,” says Tom Dispenza, Senior Manager of Clairol Worldwide Education. “Fresh color adds body and shine, too.”
Just remember, if you use semi-permanent color ( Level 2) or permanent color (Level 3), alternate how you touch up your roots every other application. First application, apply color only to your new hair growth. The next time, work the color through the rest of your hair for the last 5 minutes. That way youre not coloring previously colored hair too much and your roots will evenly match the rest of your hair!

Full Head of Color
Uh-oh! Caught putting your blonde bombshell look on hold? What for? You love the attention your brilliantly blonde hair gives you. So, touch up those golden tresses and be a diva everyday. If your hair is dark, touch up about every 4 weeks or if you have naturally light hair, you can probably wait 5-6 weeks.
Gray Coverage
So, you let those grays go too long? Time to be rootless. Make sure you stick to your color routine and well keep those grays between us! If youre mostly gray, youll need to color every 4 weeks. If youre using a blonde shade, you can wait up to 5 weeks. If youve only got a few grays, you can stretch it out a little longer, especially if your hair color is close to your natural color.
Hightlights
Do your highlights need to be re-energized? Not to worry. Its never too late to change your ways. And lucky for you, your eye-catching highlights give high impact but are low maintenance. Youve got the look without the hassles. Be sure to highlight every three months.
Stay color perfect, and be color confident!
